INNOMINATE KRAKEN | MOTION DESIGNER & VIDEO EDITOR

As a suggestion from a friend, I started my own travel vlog YouTube channel in 2016. At the time I was winning concert tickets left and right and going to so many events because of EDM.com. So it made sense to document a few of them, as a sort of video scrapbook for my friends and family.

Wanting to have a set design style right from the start (because why not?), I created a graphics package just for these travel vlogs. It wasn’t much, but they each had a title and end card, accompanied by a thumbnail that matched. We even had our own logo!

During the later part of 2016, I put together a bonus how-to video for a cosplay vlog – and that changed everything. Gaining lots of views and subscribers from just that, we wanted to put out how-to’s on the regular.

It wasn’t until 2021 that we decided to grow our channel and small business. And that meant a whole rebrand.

Having used every color under the sun before, I limited our color palette and kept our signature purple. I also wanted to stick with our playful type of drawn-on graphics, but with a more modern and clean look.

To keep our videos to the point, we ended up expanding on our graphics library to cover things that we didn’t mention, like prompting the viewer to subscribe or like. And, as a plus, we could sprinkle them throughout the video.

We also felt that the sooner we could get to the how-to steps the better, so we switched our title card to a small corner logo graphic.

Thinking ahead to the future, I even made a full graphics package full of MOGRTs with text on screen options, social media end cards, arrows, and box in box options with our background.

As a motion designer I’m always itching to add some more pizazz to our how-to previews, especially for cosplay how-to’s.

Award-Winning YouTube Channel

In 2022, a few of the how-to videos that I produced and edited won awards, along with our channel as a cohesive brand with great content.

Our Clients

As a video production company, we’ve been slowly growing our client base. So far I’ve done a lot of MOGRT work and photography.
